This is my first cake blog so not sure how it is going to turn out, but had to share this because I was so happy with the end result. I was asked a while back to make a despicable me cake, and I immediately pictured a 3D design. I even dropped my price just so I could make it, but the person really wanted something flat and simple.

A few months later  my God son’s brother decided he wanted on for his birthday and I was on it, so much so I did at cost.

Had to get my brother to help me with the structure  which  I built using a piece of  MDF for the base  and dowel rods  for support. The structure was sturdy enough but if I use the same method next time, which I probably will, I would either make a smaller cake using the same materials or use the same method but use iron rods for support.

My favourite piece is the banana which took me about 10 minutes to make.
